DZMM is bringing its award-winning “Buntis Congress” seminar to Dipolog City this Friday (August 15) to nurture future mothers with knowledge they need during and after pregnancy.

Three hundred fifty pregnant women are expected to join the seminar at Ariana Hotel, which will be hosted by DZMM anchor Winnie Cordero, with experts from the Department of Health, National Nutrition Council, Midwives Foundation of the Philippines, and the Population Commission giving lectures and tips. All participants will also be taking home baby bags and have a chance to win raffle prizes.

“The Voice of the Philippines Season 1” artist Morissette Amon, meanwhile, will join the event to entertain the participants.

The Dipolog seminar follows the leading AM radio station’s line-up of public service events this year. In June, it held the “Buntis Congress” at the SM Megatrade Hall with 600 expectant moms in attendance.

Most of them were first-time moms, with a 14-year-old as the youngest participant. Tippy Dos Santos and “The Voice” artist Paolo Onesa were also present to sing for the attendees.

Health Undersecretary Teodoro Herbosa also spoke at the seminar, revealing that 30,000 na women die during pregnancy and childbirth. According to him, the leading causes of maternal deaths in the country are hypertension and hemorrhage, especially in rural and remote areas.

Now on its 12th year, the DZMM “Buntis Congress” will also be conducted in San Pablo, Laguna and Bacolod City later this year.
