CAPTIVATE: My Passion, My Profession is the 11th General Assembly and Annual Elections spearheaded by the Association of Philippine Physical Therapy Students.

The Association of Philippine Physical Therapy Students (APPTS) will hold its 11TH general assembly entitled CAPTIVATE: My Passion, My Profession.

It will be held on August 5 (from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM) and 6 (from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM), 2017 at Angeles University Foundation, Angeles City, Pampanga.

The event is open to both member and non-member school of the APPTS. It will be spearheaded by APPTS Executive Committee and Board of Directors in cooperation with AUF – Physical Therapy Students Society.

The event will be composed of the following events: various talks about:

  • Situationer: PT in the Philippines Today
  • Interactive Lectures on the following:
    • Situationer: PT in the Philippines Today
    • Recent updates on PT Education in the Philippines
    • Different career paths in Physical Therapy
  • Socialization Night
  • Small Group Discussion
  • Research Poster Exhibit
  • APPTS 16-17 Year End Report

One of the main objectives of the event is to help PT students capture a deeper perspective of selected scopes of PT practice – Academe, Research, Sports and Wellness, Community Based Rehabilitation, Clinics–that awaits when they finally become licensed PTs. This assembly also aims to instill further appreciation of the physical therapy education and profession in the country.

14 schools from all over the country are expected to attend the event. Some of those who have confirmed their participation are the following schools: St. Paul University- Iloilo, Our Lady of Fatima University-Antipolo, Quezon City, & Valenzuela Campuses, University of Perpetual Help- Dr. Jose G. Tamayo Medical University, Far Eastern University- Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, University of La SaLette, University of Bohol, Emilio Aguinaldo College- Manila, University of Batangas, University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines Manila, Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, Family Clinic Colleges Inc.

The Association of Philippine Physical Therapy Students is the only recognized organization of Physical Therapy students in the country convened by the Philippine Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) as its special project arm and part of its responsibilities as an association is to spearhead projects that would gather member schools and their students to discuss about APPTS, its history, vision, mission, and present to them the year-round calendar of activities that members should watch out for. The organization was established as a response to the growing need for the active participation of physical therapy students in their advocacy of creating a wider network, promoting the profession and engaging in a healthy lifestyle.
