Google Philippines are on the lookout for the new breed of Web Rangers, an online campaign that aims to take action from cyberbullying and making the internet a safe place for everyone.

Together with the National Youth Commission (NYC), the program is open for everyone aged 14-18 years old. The chosen teens went to the one-day workshop to teach the teens on how to use their creativity to create ideas in stopping the cyberbullying that is now prevalent in the internet today.

The chosen ones were given three weeks to come up with an idea on how to promote their campaign against cyberbullying. Each group of presenters will be guided by the people from known creative agencies. Their campaign will be presented to the panel of judges from Google and from known marketing and creative industries.

The Web Rangers group with the winning campaign will have a chance to visit the Google office in Asia to personally present the campaign to the Google executives.

“Cyberspace is a great platform for learning, sharing and collaborating—opportunities that come with many risks. The amount of hours teens spend online can make them especially vulnerable, but it also gives them an advantage to make a difference. We want to equip them for that through Web Rangers,” said Gail Tan, Google Philippines Head of Communications and Public Affairs.
