Grace Poe’s son explains: ‘I bought Nike shoes for only P10k not 1M’

The son of presidential candidate Grace Poe apologized for the controversy made by his social media post on the “expensive” shoes he bought.

“I apologize if anyone was offended by my shoes, it was never my intention to upset anyone. I just wanted to buy myself something after saving up for months,” said Brian Poe Llamanzares.

“I don’t know much about shoes and I’m not exactly a sneaker expert so when I saw these online (at P10,000) and I liked the design, I saved up and bought the shoes,” he added.

Presidential candidate Grace Poe earned criticisms from her bashers after her son Brian Poe Llamanzares flaunted a very expensive pair of shoes on social media.

In the said viral photo, Brian Poe Llamanzares can be seen wearing a very expensive limited edition of 2011 Nike Mag10 Back to the Future II Marty McFly 2015, which is reportedly cost $19,999.99 or almost 1M pesos.

On social media, netizens said that Brian just display how wealthy they are, which is opposite to the “poor” political image of her mother.

Meanwhile, Grace Poe quickly defended her son and asked the public to spare her family out of politics.

Poe explained in one of her interview that her son can afford to buy the shoe since he is working as a neophyte reporter from a TV station.

“He saved up for that a long time. Even if assuming I was not agreeable to it, it made him happy. He has a right to it. Why should we stand in the way?” she added.

Poe underscored that her son should be spared from the slings and arrows of politicking since he has done nothing wrong. “He is a private citizen who deserves his privacy,” she said.

Do you believe that the Nike shoes only cost 10,000?
