MANILA, Philippines – Professionalism, Integrity, Leadership, Esprit de Corps and Remuneration: these are the values that built the foundation of the organization, Mapúa Institute of Technology Student Branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (Mapúa – IEEE). Striving to maintain its distinction from other organizations, Mapúa -IEEE is known to lead in providing opportunities for social and academic advances for both undergraduates and professionals. In line with the organization’s mission to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity, the organization hosts the “Mapúa-IEEE Week: A Walk through Technology” from June 1-5, 2015 at Mapúa Institute of Technology, Intramuros Manila organized by the officers and advisers of the Mapúa – IEEE .
This event provides an opportunity for the interaction between IEEE Philippine Section Student Branches of various colleges and universities regarding technological innovations, researches, and progression of skill and knowledge in technical – related professions. Specifically, IEEE members from De La Salle University – Manila (DLSU), University of the Philippines – Diliman (UP), University of Santo Tomas (UST), University of the East – Caloocan (UE) and Mapúa Institute of Technology – Manila (MIT) are invited to the said event.
The activities set for the event are as follows:
- Mapúa – IEEE TECHINARS: Technical Seminars and Workshops which develop skills and widens the scope of knowledge of students enrolled in the field of Electronics Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Engineering (CpE). The seminars will come from IEEE Philippine Section, National Instruments, Microsoft, and ABS-CBN’s Bayan Mo Ipatrol Mo.
- Mapúa – IEEE Debate Championship which will make use of the Asian Parliamentary format to showcase their talents in speaking and oration with regards to topics related to technology, Engineering and the theme for Mapúa-IEEE Week: A Walk through Technology.
- Mapúa – IEEE Quiz Bee: Battle of the Brains which tests the knowledge of students on technical topics who are in the field of Electronics Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Engineering (CpE).
- Mapúa – IEEE 12th Annual Project Design Competition which aims to develop the students’ technical skills and talents, as well as exhibit their ingenuity in creating a prototype. This is the main event of the whole week celebration of the organization.
Throughout the whole event, a Fund Raising Booth, supervised by the Finance Committee of Mapúa-IEEE, will be provided to be able to raise funds for prizing and upcoming activities, events and projects of the organization.
This year’s technology week of the Mapúa-IEEE promises to be one of the biggest ever. At this juncture, the Mapúa-IEEE officers wish to seek for your support in making these events successful.
