Angelica Yap also known as Pastillas Girl defended It’s Showtime over the issue of using her to compete with rival show’s stars AlDub or the phenomenal tandem of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.
In her Twitter post, she said “NEVER akong ginamit ng It’s Showtime. Tinawagan ako ng IST para mag guest sa Advice Ganda dahil sa vinideo ko. Inexplain ko kung gaano kasikat si Yaya Dub bago ako pumasok sa IST at kung paano naging maingay ang Yaya Dub vs Pastillas girl. Watch the full version of the interview. I have nothing against IST, in fact, I will be always thankful to IST. Please wag nyo po sana gawan ng issue. Mataas ang respeto ko sa IST. To the IST fans, sorry kung na misinterpret nyo but please don’t let others divide our unity.”
The controversy rose when netizens misinterpret that Pastillas Girl admitted in a press interview that It’s Showtime contact her to guest in the show as an answer to their low TV ratings because of rival show’s AlDub phenomenon.
In the question where she was first discovered, she undoubtedly answered “Actually sa showtime talaga, kasi after nung video na nag viral talagang showtime po talaga ang unang tumawag saken.”
Though hesitant to respond to the second question asking her what for, she said “Of cors dat tym kasi kailangan ng something na… (Naka smile pa sya ☺) dba kasi datym c yayadub nasa taas na sya eh and iba po talaga ang ingay ng ginawa ng yaya dub vs pastillias girl na iba po talaga un from being no body to someone ehh nah naging karibal.. Yayadub..and iba din ung hirap mo non kasi nagsimula sia with bashing.”
