What a good year 2017 it has been for Regal Films. Producing light drama, romantic comedies and suspense-horror movies which made great in the box office.
This 2018, Regal’s matriarch, Mother Lily and her creative team has a lot in store to all avid movie goers and supporters of her iconic film outfit.
On January 17, “Mama’s Girl” is set to open in cinemas nationwide directed by Connie Macatuno with story courtesy of award winning writer/screenwriter Gina Marissa Tagasa.
Versatile actress Sylvia Sanchez headlines the movie as she stars opposite Sofia Andres, Diego Loyzaga, Alyana Asistio, Karen Reyes, Heaven Peralejo with Jameson Blake and Arlene Muhlach.
Ms. Sylvia plays a single mother who brings up difficult daughter Sofia. The mother and daughter pair encounter struggles and conflicts within their relationship and it will be interesting how the two lead stars will patch all their problems up with the help of friends in the cast.
We have enjoyed Ms. Sylvia's portrayal of various characters in her films and she is most effective as a doting and bubbly mom in my honest opinion.
Sofia on the other hand has been doing so far so good with her acting projects. She's been in romantic comedy, horror films since her film debut in 2013. A really promising actress on the rise with a lot of potential to make a very good name in the biz.
We are also pretty excited how Sofia tackles her role as her Mama's Girl, Abby, in the film.
Twenty-year old Jameson Blake is once again back after the success of his recent horror flick for Metro Manila Film Festival 2017, "Haunted Forest".
He plays rockstar Zak who easily charms his way to a ladie's heart. With his looks and charm, why not right?
Jameson has seemingly been portraying interesting roles in his film streak after coming out of PBB's House. His memorable role to date is still from "2 Cool 2b 4gotten" where he bagged Best Supporting Actor for Cinemalaya 2016.
It's another busy year for Mr. Blake with a couple more films up his sleeve for the First Quarter of the year.
Mama's Girl is guaranteed to warm your hearts with an interesting storyline, staunch directing and charming cast.
Do save the date, January 17, 2018 in cinemas nationwide from Regal Films and Entertainment.
