Rice bran normally used as pig feeds is main ingredient in beauty products

Broadcast journalist Karen Davila features the story of an entrepreneur who ventured into different businesses before finally finding a goldmine in products with “darak” oil in “My Puhunan” tomorrow (Jan 26).

Rice bran or “darak” is usually mixed in pig feed, but unbeknownst to many, it is rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, and minerals.

In fact, mom She Quintana uses rice bran as a primary ingredient in her beauty products because it is proven to smoothen the skin.

She’s products, branded as Oryspa, became a total hit. They currently have 23 branches and even exports products that include shampoo, soap, painkiller, cologne, and body scrub to Singapore.

Watch “My Puhunan” tomorrow tomorrow (Jan 26) night after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN. Catch it at an earlier time on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable channel 26), 9:30PM.
