MANILA, Philippines – In many Filipino homes, Taiwan products are making people’s lifestyles more enjoyable and exciting. Whether these products are for the home office, kitchen, living room, bedroom, or the outdoors, Taiwan brands are revolutionizing the way Filipinos live with their innovative designs, user-friendly features, and superior quality.

One example is the HONO auto opening life jacket, the best equipment for water safety. It opens automatically once the user falls into water, and maintains the user’s vertical balance in the water, even if he is a non-swimmer and beginner. Another example is Mozbii, world’s first color picking stylus that enables users to capture colors from surroundings by simply pressing on a surface and immediately use that color to draw on their tablets.

Taiwan’s cutting edge products and innovative spirit have not just helped people, they have also fueled the strong growth of the country over the last two decades, making it one of the richest economies in Asia. Today, Taiwan’s main export partners are Mainland China & Hong Kong (44% of total), USA (12%), Japan (7%), Europe (11%) and ASEAN countries (15%). The Philippines is the 8th largest export partner of Taiwan, receiving $9.53 billion worth of goods in 2014.

To increase Filipinos’ awareness of these products, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) of Taiwan and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) are working in cooperation with some industry associations to further promote these products in the Philippines under the 2015 Taiwan Excellence campaign. They are working with the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association in the PSECE expo and with Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association in the Philauto expo. To catch the attention of Filipino consumers, the wide-ranging campaign involves various activities such as mall events, exhibits, the Made to Enjoy Singing contest, and the Made to Enjoy Christmas contest, and even promotions done online and through social media (YouTube and Facebook).

Taiwan Excellence also plans to hold more events and expos that will feature the brands and services of Taiwanese companies. Through these events and expos, Filipinos can know how these products can meet the evolving needs of their families, and even their businesses, and let them discover ways to enhance their lifestyles.
