PHILIPPINES AirAsia Philippines has today canceled its Manila-Cebu-Manila flights scheduled for 17-18 December following the closure of Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) which was badly devastated by typhoon Odette.
In a statement issued by GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation, operator of the MCIA, the initial closure of the airport until 1852H today 17 December will be extended until 0900H, 19 December, Sunday, to give way to immediate repairs of the damaged infrastructure and facilities.

That’s why we are mounting special recovery flights to make sure they can reach home safely and as soon as possible. We likewise advise our guests to monitor SMS notifications, email and AirAsia social media platforms for timely updates on flight schedules.”

In light of this weather event, AirAsia is making the following options available to guests whose flights have been canceled or delayed longer than 3 hours:

Unlimited flight changes: Change to any new travel date before 26 March 2022 on the same route for an unlimited number of times with fare difference waived, and subject to seat availability;

Credit account: Retain the value of the flight booking in the guest’s AirAsia BIG Member account for future travel with AirAsia to be redeemed within 730 calendar days (2 years) from the issuance date. The travel date of the new booking can fall on any date within the published flight schedule on airasia.com
Guests who wish to make booking changes online may go to airasia.com and click on the AVA icon on the lower right of the screen. From the categories available, click on “Booking Changes” then “Flight Change” and finally “My flight was changed by AirAsia.” From there, simply follow the instructions to make changes to your booking.
