Broadcast journalist Karen Davila details how a former tricycle driver and his wife became millionaires by adding a creative twist to the popular polvoron this Wednesday (April 2) in “My Puhunan.”

Joel and Marissa Yala put up their polvoron business after they noticed only marshmallows and biscuits were being sold in chocolate-coated variants. They thought of making choco-coated polvoron, which they called “chocovron.”

Using an initial capital of P500, the married couple produced ten packs of chocovron and then earned P1,500. Since then, orders had started coming in, until their business grew.

“My Puhunan” also features the business of celebrity siblings John and Camille Prats, who have a hands-on approach to running Divine Angels Montessori. The two take quality education to heart and are particularly proud of their school’s academic curriculum and its social environment.

Doris Bigornia, meanwhile, puts the spotlight on the heroism of a barangay watchman and pedicab driver who saved a toddler, who was hanging on a hotel’s fire exit ladder. Catch the story tomorrow (April 1) in “Mutya ng Masa.”
