Multi-awarded actor, host and civic leader Dingdong Dantes is back with Star Cinema via the film, “Seven Sundays” directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
In his recent blogcon held recently at ABS CBN compound, he is thankful to have another project with Star Cinema after starring in “Unmarried Wife” opposite again with Angelica Panganiban.
"Hindi rin naman everyday meron akong film project because most of my work is on television. I am grateful that I have another movie with Star Cinema." he shares.
"Seven Sundays" tells the story of the Bonifacio siblings, Allan , Bryan, Cha and Dex, who reunite after their father is diagnosed with cancer and have to deal with unresolved issues among themselves in the process.
Dingdong's film siblings are Enrique Gil, Christine Reyes and fellow hearthrob Aga Muhlach who's making a movie comeback after seven years of being away from the big screen. Seasoned actor Ronaldo Valdez is their father diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer.
Speaking of Aga, it was because of him that encouraged Dingdong to try showbizness. "Growing up I admit na si Aga Muhlach ay idol ko. Kaya rin ako talagang na-convince to get into acting, it's because of his work."
Would you believe this is also his very first time to be working with ageless Aga. It was a wish for Dingdong to star opposite his idol and the dream has finally come true!
I also happened to ask Papa Dong if it was also his first time to work with box office hit director, Cathy Garcia-Molina?
"Yes! It's my first time! I've never seen any of her films but I know her body of work. She doesn't give you feedback after takes. I felt okay naman siguro. Makikita na lang namin ang outcome sa premiere night!"
Direk Cathy has expressed before that she plans to retire very soon from directing films and Dingdong once again felt grateful to have had the chance and opportunity having been directed by a premiere film maker.
"Seven Sundays" is considered a dramedy (drama-comedy) so expect fun and light moments from all lead stars as they take on their notable roles in between melodramatic scenes.
One of Dingdong's fave scene in the film is his confrontational scene with the family so expect really great acting as always!
Congrats Papa Dong, I know this is another memorable film in your long list of remarkable movies!
Save the date on October 11 when "Seven Sundays" hits theaters nationwide. They have a red carpet premiere night on October 10.
