TAIPEI, Taiwan – The ZenFone 3 series is slated to be released sometime in August this year, revealed ASUS CEO Jerry Shen in an interview during a media tour today.
Taiwan’s largest smartphone manufacturer is expected to release three ZenFone 3 models – ZenFone 3 Deluxe, ZenFone 3, and ZenFone 3 Ultra.
Similar to rival Apple iPhone, ASUS is marketing the 5.7 inch ZenFone 3 Deluxe as the flagship, followed by the 5.5 inch ZenFone 3 which enters as a mid-range device.
Finally the ZenFone 3 Ultra is aimed at multimedia-heavy users with its immersive 6.8 inch screen, 4k television grade hardware video processor, and powerful, dual channel speakers.
With the ZenFone 3 series, ASUS took extra steps to streamline the product line, aligning even the notebooks into the Zen X branding, calling it the Zenbook 3.
ASUS is expected to release three laptop / convertible devices in the same month – ZenBook 3, Transformer 3, and the Transformer 3 Pro.
