In case you did not know, there’s a 7-Eleven Store in Pampanga

MANILA, Philippines (Mar 2025) — Convenience store chain 7-Eleven is going dark—at least for an hour—this March 22 in support of Earth Hour 2025. More than 4,000 stores across the country will switch off their lights from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, joining millions worldwide in a collective effort to raise environmental awareness.

Operations will remain uninterrupted, ensuring customers can still shop and grab their essentials. But beyond the symbolic gesture, 7-Eleven is calling on Filipinos to make sustainability a daily habit, not just a one-hour event.

This year, the company introduced the “Good Coffee, Good Habits” campaign, encouraging customers to bring reusable cups or tumblers for their coffee runs. Aside from cutting down on single-use waste, participants also get a ₱5 discount per refill. The chain has also been reinforcing its “Bring Your Own Bag” initiative every Wednesday, nudging shoppers to opt for reusable bags and reduce paper consumption.

7-Eleven’s eco-conscious efforts extend to its business operations, collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders to minimize food waste and plastic use. In 2024, it took a bigger step toward sustainability with the opening of its Angeles, Pampanga store on Friendship Highway. The branch—offering favorites like 21TOGO chicken and drinks from !+? Café Reserve—is powered by solar energy, marking a milestone in the brand’s green initiatives.

As it continues to push for a more sustainable future, 7-Eleven invites every kapitbahay to take action, proving that even small choices can lead to a significant impact.
