Speed Queen sets sights on Pinoy homes with ultra durable washers, dryers

MANILA, Philippines – Speed Queen, a renowned American brand synonymous with durable and high-performance laundry solutions, is making a strategic reentry into the Philippine market with a focus on the home retail segment. Backed by its longstanding commercial success and a robust partnership with AHAM Corporation, the brand is poised to redefine consumer expectations for laundry appliances.

From Commercial Powerhouse to Consumer Champion

For over 30 years, Speed Queen has been a staple in the Philippines’ commercial laundry sector, servicing hotels, casinos, hospitals, and laundromats. While its reputation among business owners remains strong, the company is now turning its attention to households. Adam Heather, Senior Regional Sales Manager of Alliance Laundry Systems, emphasized this shift during the brand’s relaunch event.

“We’ve had a strong focus on commercial markets with our vended laundromats and on-premise laundry solutions. Now, we’re entering the consumer space to bring the same reliability and performance to Filipino homes,” Heather explained.

A Product Line Designed for Durability

Speed Queen’s new offerings include top-load washers, front-load washers, gas and electric dryers, and a stackable washer-dryer combination. With prices ranging from ₱89,000 for entry-level units to over ₱100,000 for premium models, the brand targets discerning consumers seeking long-term value.

Unlike typical consumer appliances, Speed Queen machines are built with commercial-grade materials such as metal components, ensuring durability. “These machines are made to last, using the same robust design principles from 20 years ago,” said Hendrick Chan, Executive Vice President of AHAM Corporation.

Advanced Features for Modern Homes

Speed Queen products also incorporate advanced features that appeal to tech-savvy users. Certain commercial units include Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities, enabling laundromat owners to monitor cycles, water usage, and power consumption remotely. While these features are primarily aimed at professional users, Heather hinted at future innovations tailored for domestic use.

Service and Accessibility in the Philippines

AHAM Corporation’s extensive network of 200 service centers across the Philippines ensures that Speed Queen customers can access prompt and reliable maintenance. With a standard two-year warranty and customer-first service policies, the brand is committed to enhancing the ownership experience.

“Our machines are an investment,” said Chan. “We prioritize customer satisfaction, replacing or repairing parts with minimal hassle. That’s why Speed Queen is easy to sell—our reputation for quality speaks for itself.”

Challenges and Opportunities

Speed Queen’s reentry into the consumer market comes after disruptions caused by the pandemic and supply chain issues. However, the company is optimistic about its renewed focus and the potential to capture a broader market.

“We’re building better and closer relationships by hiring a local team and working closely with AHAM to avoid any slip in the market,” Heather shared.

As Speed Queen returns to Filipino homes, its blend of commercial-grade durability and cutting-edge features sets it apart in a crowded appliance market. With its reputation for quality and a renewed commitment to local consumers, the brand is poised to become a household name in the Philippines once again.

For more information, Speed Queen products are available in leading appliance stores, including SM and Anson’s.
