LAGUNA, Philippines — The Philippines, renowned for celebrating the world’s longest Christmas season, experienced a new highlight as Coca-Cola debuted the country’s largest drone show. Featuring over 1,300 drones, the event brought Santa Claus, parol lanterns, and the iconic Coca-Cola Christmas truck to life in the night sky.
Held in Nuvali, the show highlighted Filipino traditions such as family gatherings and community feasts, weaving them into a spectacle of light and music. “The breathtaking display celebrates cherished Filipino Christmas traditions,” said Teejae Sonza, ASEAN & South Pacific Category Director for Coca-Cola Trademark.
A celebration of hope and connection
Before the aerial display, festivities began with an illumination ceremony at the Santa Rosa bottling plant, adorned with dazzling Christmas lights. Coca-Cola’s iconic Christmas truck also made an appearance, spreading cheer and excitement as it toured local communities.
Adrian Manlapig, Frontline Marketing Director of Coca-Cola Philippines, emphasized the event’s aim to foster holiday spirit: “This year’s celebration captures the essence of Filipino Christmas — community and joy.”
Innovation meets tradition
Beyond the drone show, Coca-Cola introduced a digital AI experience enabling users to create personalized holiday animations via QR codes on Coca-Cola bottles. This initiative, part of the “The World Needs More Santas” campaign, aims to inspire kindness and human connection globally.
As Christmas approaches, Coca-Cola hopes to bring Filipinos closer through community events, interactive activities, and its traveling Christmas caravan. This year’s theme reflects a desire to highlight compassion and kindness — values deeply rooted in Filipino culture.
