In a united push toward sustainability and reducing plastic waste, Sabon Express officially launched its latest innovation—the Blue Box self-service refill station—with the full support of the Department of Science and Technology – National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) through its Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEPA) Program.
Adding to the excitement of the event was the introduction of the Sabon Express Vendo Machine, unveiled by Ms. Mellany Zambrano, founder and CEO of Sabon Express, together with BJMPMBAI General Arturo Alit and the product’s executive team. The initiative reflects their shared commitment to making eco-conscious hygiene solutions more accessible to the public.
Ms. Zambrano expressed her heartfelt gratitude for DOST-NCR’s support and guidance in bringing their long-time vision to life.
“The Department of Science and Technology has been instrumental in opening doors for us. With their help, we were finally able to bring the Blue Box to life—an idea we’ve nurtured for years,” said Zambrano.
Recognized as Sabon Express Brand of the Year by the World Class Excellence Japan Awards, the company continues to lead with purpose-driven innovations. The Blue Box allows customers to refill essential household cleaning products such as dishwashing liquid, fabric conditioner, and detergent powder—starting at just ₱5.00 for 50ml.
How the Blue Box Works:
- Bring Your Own Bottle – Reduce waste by using reusable containers.
- Choose Your Product – Buy only what you need, based on your budget.
- Pay, Refill, and Reuse – Simple, affordable, and sustainable.
A 1-liter refill can replace up to 54 sachets, helping consumers save more than ₱400 while dramatically cutting down on plastic waste.
“Blue Box is more than just a vending machine—it’s a real, workable solution for Filipino households and small businesses who want to practice sustainability,” Zambrano added.
Meanwhile, the Sabon Express Vendo Machine, launched in partnership with General Arturo Alit, provides another convenient and accessible way for consumers to purchase hygiene products in real time, further promoting zero-waste habits.
This initiative highlights the value of public-private partnerships in making environmental solutions scalable and inclusive.
Both the Blue Box and Sabon Express Vendo Machine are now part of a growing one-stop-shop network, bringing practical and eco-friendly alternatives closer to Filipino communities.
“This is truly a dream come true—not just for me, but for every Filipino who believes in a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable future,” Zambrano concluded.
With every refill and reused container, Sabon Express brings the country one step closer to a circular economy—where sustainability meets affordability.
