MANILA, Philippines (July 9) – Samsung has just unveiled its most ambitious foldable phone yet, the Galaxy Z Fold7, blending a radically thinner and lighter design with a powerful new brain focused on artificial intelligence and a professional-grade camera.
Announced in New York, the device is the company’s slimmest and most lightweight Z Fold to date, weighing just 215 grams, which is less than a Galaxy S25 Ultra. It measures a sleek 8.9 millimeters when folded and an impressive 4.2 millimeters when opened. A wider 6.5-inch cover screen aims to make one-handed use feel more like a traditional smartphone.

When unfolded, the device reveals a massive 8.0-inch main display, which a press release obtained by our editors states is 11% larger than its predecessor. This larger canvas is designed for multitasking and immersive viewing, with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits for clear visibility even under direct sunlight.
Samsung emphasized durability in this new model. The Z Fold7 features a restructured, thinner Armor FlexHinge designed to better disperse stress and reduce screen creasing. The cover display is protected by Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the frame uses Advanced Armor Aluminum. The flexible main display itself is now 50% thicker for added strength.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. This custom chipset provides significant performance boosts to the CPU, GPU, and especially the neural processing unit, which is crucial for handling the device’s on-device AI tasks more efficiently.
For the first time in the Z series, Samsung has included a 200-megapixel wide-angle camera. The company claims it captures four times more detail and produces brighter images. The camera system is enhanced by AI, with features like Night Video for clearer low-light recording and Photo Assist, which allows users to move, erase, or resize objects in photos with AI precision. Audio Eraser can now automatically detect and remove unwanted background noise from videos.
The new One UI 8 software, built on Android 16, is central to the experience. It integrates AI deeply into the user interface, allowing for advanced functions like Gemini Live with screen sharing for contextual AI help, improved Drag & Drop between apps in split-screen view, and enhanced security through a new system called Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is now available for pre-order in the Philippines in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, and Jetblack, with a Mint colorway exclusive to the Samsung online store. It is priced as follows:
