Indonesia’s EVOS esports crowned Free Fire champion

SINGAPORE (Jul 2025) – Indonesian powerhouse EVOS Esports claimed the Free Fire championship at the 2025 Esports World Cup, a hard-fought victory that avenges their narrow second-place finish last year. The team secured their dominant win by being the first to achieve a “Booyah!” after reaching the Champion Rush threshold of 80 points in the Grand Final.

The triumph not only marked a significant comeback for EVOS Esports but also earned them a direct slot in the prestigious Free Fire World Series Global Finals 2025. This global tournament, featuring the world’s top 18 teams, is set to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from late October to mid-November, bringing the high-stakes competition closer to many Filipino fans who follow the Free Fire esports scene.

Last year, EVOS Esports missed the championship by a mere seven points, placing second. Aji Apri “AimGOD” Wicaksono, an EVOS Esports player, shared the team’s immense pride and gratitude following their victory. He highlighted the team’s perseverance and strategic overhaul after a poor showing at the recent Southeast Asia Spring tournament, emphasizing that their hard work had finally paid off.

The Esports World Cup: Free Fire 2025 Grand Final on July 20 was a spectacle of intense competition. EVOS Esports quickly gained an advantage with an early “Booyah!” in the third round, moving ahead of strong contenders like Thailand’s Team Falcons, last year’s champions. Despite facing challenges as Indonesia’s Team Vitality and Brazil’s LOS surged with two “Booyahs!” each, EVOS Esports found their turning point in Round 10. Sixteen-year-old sniper Rasyah executed a crucial play that shifted momentum, ultimately leading his team to claim the final “Booyah!” and earning him the Final Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. This marked a historic moment for Rasyah, as one of the youngest MVP winners in the Esports World Cup and his debut world championship appearance.

Following the Esports World Cup, fans can anticipate more action with Free Fire All Stars, a Clash Squad tournament kicking off in early August. This event will feature eight elite Free Fire teams in a fast-paced format, promising unexpected matchups and celebrating the game’s vibrant player community. Details for this tournament will be released soon.
