VinFast just locked in free EV charging in the Philippines until 2029 — here’s what that means for your wallet

MANILA, Philippines (Mar 2026) — Fuel prices are up again, and VinFast just made its pitch to Filipino drivers more compelling than ever. The Vietnamese EV brand has extended its free, unlimited charging program in the Philippines until March 31, 2029, covering all owners who charge at V-Green authorized stations.

The program applies to both existing VinFast owners and future buyers, including private customers and drivers operating on the Green SM ride-hailing platform. As long as they use V-Green charging infrastructure, they pay nothing to charge their vehicles for the next three years.

To put that in context: the average Filipino driver spends thousands of pesos on fuel every month. Under this program, that cost drops to zero at the charger.

“When operating costs are optimized to nearly zero, consumers will have greater confidence and motivation to switch to green mobility,” said Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Sales at VinFast.

The Philippines is one of three markets covered by the extension, alongside India and Indonesia. V-Green, VinFast’s charging network arm, is continuing to expand its station count across all three countries to support the growing fleet.

Beyond free charging, VinFast is running several other programs to lower the barrier to EV ownership in the Philippines. These include a battery subscription program that reduces upfront costs, a resale value guarantee, flexible payment options, and warranty coverage the brand describes as market-leading.

The free charging extension runs through March 31, 2029 at all V-Green developed and operated charging stations.
