MANILA, Philippines (Mar 2026) — Apple just refreshed its flagship over-ear headphones, and the upgrade is substantial enough to matter even if you already own the original AirPods Max.
AirPods Max 2 are coming soon to the Philippines, priced at PHP 34,990 (approx. $602). The new model runs on the H2 chip, which Apple also uses in AirPods Pro 2, and the jump in processing power shows up across noise cancellation, audio quality, and a set of intelligent features that were not available on the first generation.
New Apple Music subscribers also get three months free with purchase.
Noise cancellation that actually changed
The ANC on AirPods Max 2 is up to 1.5x more effective than the previous generation, according to Apple. That is not just marketing language for a minor tweak. H2 enables new computational audio algorithms that block out more environmental noise, specifically the kind of sustained low-frequency drone you get from airplane engines, train cabins, and open-plan offices.
Transparency Mode also sounds more natural this time, with a new digital signal processing algorithm that makes ambient sound feel less processed when you want to stay aware of your surroundings.

Sound quality and lossless audio
The new high dynamic range amplifier delivers cleaner audio while keeping the sound signature that made the original AirPods Max well regarded. Spatial Audio content benefits from improved instrument localization, more accurate bass response, and more natural mids and highs.
When connected via USB-C cable, AirPods Max 2 support 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio, a first for the lineup. This also enables ultra-low latency for use in Logic Pro and other professional music creation apps, making them the only headphones that let musicians create and mix in Personalized Spatial Audio with head tracking. Gaming latency also improves in Game Mode on iOS, macOS, and iPadOS.
New intelligent features
Several features arrive on AirPods Max for the first time. Adaptive Audio automatically adjusts ANC and Transparency levels based on the environment. Conversation Awareness drops the volume and reduces background noise when you start talking to someone nearby. Live Translation, powered by Apple Intelligence, helps communicate across languages in person, though availability varies by region and language.
Voice Isolation prioritizes your voice during calls while blocking ambient noise. Camera Remote lets you trigger your iPhone or iPad camera by pressing the Digital Crown, handy for content creators. Studio-quality audio recording improves vocal texture for podcasters, interviewers, and singers. Loud Sound Reduction limits exposure to harmful environmental noise levels.

Colors and availability
AirPods Max 2 come in midnight, starlight, orange, purple, and blue. Philippine availability has not been given a specific date beyond “coming soon.” AppleCare coverage is available as an add-on for additional protection.
