SEOUL, South Korea (Apr. 2026) — Six years after its debut, LG’s WashTower has crossed 3.2 million units in cumulative global sales — a number that puts it among the more quietly successful appliance launches of the decade.
The WashTower, which combines a full-sized washer and dryer in a single stacked unit, is now sold in 77 countries. North America leads with over 1.6 million units, followed by Latin America at 160,000 and Asia at 130,000. LG hasn’t broken out Philippine figures specifically, but the Asia tally covers a market where space-saving appliances have obvious appeal in condo-heavy cities like Metro Manila.
What makes it work
The WashTower runs on two core LG technologies. AI DD (Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive) reads load weight, fabric type, and soil level before selecting a wash pattern — the idea being cleaner results with less wear on clothing. On the drying side, DUAL Inverter HeatPump technology uses lower temperatures to dry garments more gently than conventional heat dryers.
Smart Pairing lets the washer communicate with the dryer directly, automatically selecting an appropriate drying cycle after the wash ends. A Prepare to Dry function preheats the dryer before the wash cycle finishes, shaving time off the overall laundry process.
What’s next
LG says it plans to introduce new WashTower models, additional AI features, and expanded color options to address a wider range of space requirements and user preferences. Promotional activities tied to the sales milestone are being planned for South Korea and overseas markets.
