TECNO Mobile Philippines launched the device nationwide today, positioning it as the go-to midrange 5G phone for Pinoys who refuse to babysit a charging cable.
Three days on a single charge
The 8,000mAh battery is the centerpiece here, and the numbers back it up: TECNO claims up to 72 hours of continuous use, 103 hours of music playback, nearly 34 hours of navigation, and close to 19 hours of gaming on a single charge. When it does need juice, 45W fast charging gets the battery to 50% in 36 minutes.
For heavy users, Bypass Charging 2.0 lets the phone draw power directly from the charger during intense use, reducing heat buildup and protecting long-term battery health. The device also doubles as an emergency power bank through 10W reverse wired charging.
Built for signal-challenged Pinoys
TECNO clearly designed this phone with local realities in mind. The POVA Curve 2 5G comes equipped with the brand’s in-house G1 signal enhancement chipset paired with an SE1 Wi-Fi chip, both working alongside a UPS 3.0 signal optimization algorithm.
Compared to its predecessor, the phone now supports 20 5G bands, up from 10. TECNO says the dual-chip setup delivers a 33% drop in network latency and a 70% boost in upload speeds. The Hyper Antenna Matrix covers 90% of the phone chassis with antenna elements, pushing signal strength 3dB above standard configurations. Whether you’re stuck in an MRT ride or inside a Makati high-rise elevator, the phone is built to hold a signal.
What else is under the hood
The POVA Curve 2 5G runs on the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor, with benchmark scores reaching up to 850,000 on AnTuTu. The 6.78-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display hits a 144Hz refresh rate and peaks at 4,500 nits of brightness, with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
Camera setup includes a 50MP main shooter, a 2MP macro lens, and a 13MP front camera, all capable of 4K video recording. The phone carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance and an SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance certification for drops up to 1.5 meters. Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and FreeLink 2.0 offline communication within 1.5km round out the feature list. It runs HiOS 16 on top of Android 16 with built-in AI tools.

The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is priced at PHP 16,999 (approx. $293) for the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. It comes in three colorways: Mystic Purple, Melting Silver, and Storm Titanium.
