MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2026) — Tanggol has crossed the continent. The Pinoy action-drama that dominated primetime television from 2023 to 2026 is now streaming across 41 countries in Africa, and it’s already generating traction online.
Book four of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” is available on the StarTimes channel in English, Portuguese, and French. It is marketed internationally under the title “Gangs of Manila,” following Coco Martin’s iconic portrayal of Tanggol as he attempts to take back order in the city as its rightful mayor.
Clips and snippets from the series are drawing strong engagement on StarTimes’ Facebook and TikTok accounts, suggesting the show’s dramatic, action-heavy storytelling is connecting with viewers who have no prior exposure to Philippine television.
Awards to back it up
The series wrapped its Philippine run on a high note. At the inaugural Philippine Arts, Film, and Television Awards (PAFTA), “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” took home Best Drama Series. Coco Martin won Best Drama Actor, and Maris Racal earned Best Breakthrough Performance.
What comes next for Coco
The series’ growing international footprint coincides with Coco’s return to primetime in “Coco Martin’s Sigabo,” an action-romance series where he stars alongside Julia Montes. It is one of the more anticipated local TV projects of 2026.
ABS-CBN has sold over 50,000 hours of content to more than 50 countries worldwide.
