MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2026) — The Philippine Space Agency took Pinoy storytelling into orbit and landed at the United Nations.

The UN edition of Si Tala at ang Kanyang Lakbay Kalawakan was launched June 12 at the 69th United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space in Vienna. UNOOSA published it in English with translations in French, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, and Russian.

The original Filipino version came out in 2023. Si Tala follows a young astronaut introducing UN treaties on outer space and space diplomacy through a cosmic adventure.

It is a big step for locally made educational materials, putting Filipino voices into a conversation usually dominated by bigger spacefaring nations.
