MANILA, Philippines (Aug 2026) — Arguments are inevitable in any relationship, but choosing love over winning is what keeps couples together, and that exact feeling powers the latest track from one of the most popular bands in the local music scene. SunKissed Lola is back after more than a year since their last EP release with “Edi Magalit Ka,” a warm and playful single that takes a familiar Pinoy phrase and turns it into a story about patience. Known for massive hits like “Pasilyo,” the five-member group from Olongapo, Zambales, is stepping into a more mature era as they approach their fifth year together.
From pride to patience
The song actually started back in 2021, but its earliest version carried a much more prideful tone. As the track developed, the band decided to soften the lyrics to give the song more emotional openness. Vocalist and guitarist Alvin “Bino” Serito helped shape the confession-like parts of the track, aiming to highlight the importance of choosing a relationship over ego. According to Serito, no one has to win an argument when you are dealing with your favorite person.
Vocalist Laura Lacbain notes that the title itself invites curiosity because it depends entirely on how the listener understands it. While the phrase can often sound dismissive in everyday conversations, the band gives it a softer meaning, turning it into an affectionate reassurance that love remains even when things get difficult.
A simpler, warmer sound
Musically, “Edi Magalit Ka” reflects a more relaxed and intentional side of the band. Guitarist Dan Ombao shares that the track originally started as an acoustic piece before he brought it to the rest of the group, where the arrangement came together naturally.
For bassist Danj Quimson and drummer Genson Viloria, the goal was to keep the sound simple, catchy and laid-back so the lyrics could truly stand out. Compared to some of their earlier releases that featured more unpredictable arrangements, this track was designed to be much lighter and easier on the ears.
