MANILA, Philippines – With just three weeks in cinemas, “A Second Chance” has been declared as the highest-grossing non-Metro Manila Film Festival Filipino movie.
According to the report of Star Cinema website, “A Second Chance” has grossed P442 million in the box office in just 10 days of opening as announced during the victory party held today, December 9.
The whole cast, crew, and creative force behind the movie are nothing short of thankful for the success that “A Second Chance” has received.
“Salamat po sa paggawa ng sequel ng isang pelikula na pinaka-malapit sa puso ko ang ‘A Second Chance.’ Kung tatanungin po ako kung gagawin ko ulit ‘to, yes gagawin ko ulit siya,” Bea Alonzo said.
Meanwhile, award-winning director Cathy Garcia-Molina turned emotional during her speech as she expressed her gratitude to everyone who were part of the film.
Also present during the event were Bea’s leading man John Lloyd Cruz, the Thursday barkada – Dimples Romana, Janus del Prado, Ahron Villena, Bea Saw – with 19-year-old singer-actor Khalil Ramos.
ABS-CBN Chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, ABS-CBN President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, Star Cinema managing director Malou Santos, and Creative head Olive Lamasan all celebrated with the “A Second Chance” team along with other Star Creatives bosses.
The film also made box office success in its international screening hitting mainstream film screenings in Middle east and Europe.
“A Second Chance” is the sequel to the 2007 original “hugot” movie “One More Chance.” and is expected to reach the 700 million mark when local and international sales are combined.
