It’s been a while since George Clooney did a comedy and sci-fi movie combined. His portrayal of an astronaut opposite Sanda Bullock in the riveting Gravity still haunts me to this day. Now here comes a mid-range film project via Tomorrowland, his latest under Walt Disney where he plays a disgruntled mechanophile trying to save the world together with an idealistic tech-savvy teenager Casey (portrayed by Under the Dome’s Britt Robertson) and Athena the past-present robotic heroine brilliantly acted by British newcomer Raffey Cassidy of Snow White and the Huntsman movie.
Globe Telecom and it’s GoSURF feature and products recently held a special screening of Clooney’s Tomorrowland last May 22 at Cinema 1 of Trinoma mall with summer in mind. Customers who were able to avail of GoSurf got elligible to a couple of movie tickets. Hundreds of free passes were raffled off to lucky winners in time for the screening.
Popcorn and softdrink snacks from Taters were distributed before the start of movie.Tasty popcorns! There were a lot of kids too in the audience. I have always been fascinated with futuristic flicks and how they dominate onscreen!
Tomorrowland was co-written and directed by Brad Bird who also helmed the hit animation The Incredibles and The Iron Giant. Also starring: Judy Greer, Tim McGraw, Hugh Laurie, Kathryn Hahn, Thomas Robinson, Keegan-Michael Key
