MANILA, Philippines – Viewers all over the country are tuning in to ABS-CBN’s primetime teleseryes as “The Broken Marriage Vow” is consistently the most viewed Asian drama on Viu in the Philippines, while “2 Good 2 Be True” lands on the number one spot in the Top 10 list for both TV series and movies on Netflix Philippines.
For “The Broken Marriage Vow” director Concepcion Macatuno, she is happy with the overwhelming support of Filipinos for the show, which recently began its second season.
“We are grateful that people continue to connect with the authenticity of our characters and their unfolding stories. Thank you for that. We are glowing and smiling with the love and support,” she said.
Meanwhile, “2 Good 2 Be True” director Mae Cruz Alviar admitted that Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla were both doubting their acting skills during their first taping days.
“Kath and DJ told me during our first day taping that maybe they don’t know how to act anymore. They were so nervous because it’s been a long time since their last project,” she said.
She even recalled her exact conversation with Kathryn. “It was so simple. No dialogue, she just needs to look at the TV. She then did it but before I ended the scene, she shouted, ‘Ahhh!’ I asked her, ‘What’s wrong?’ She asked me if she was doing it right,” the “2G2BT” director said.
All their hard work has paid off as their show leads the hit global streaming platform in the country and has been trending worldwide.
Viewers should watch out for more intense scenes in “The Broken Marriage Vow” as the second season unfolds with heightened conflicts and confrontations. Currently, things are getting complicated as Dr. Jill (Jodi Sta. Maria) and David (Zanjoe Marudo) shared a night together leaving David’s wife, Lexy (Sue Ramirez), clueless. The two are also at war due to their son Gio’s (Zaijian Jaranilla) mental health problems.
On the other hand, viewers are slowly getting to know more about the lives of Eloy (Daniel) and Ali (Kathryn) in “2G2BT.” As Eloy tries to locate Ali and uncover the evidence she has against him, he learns that she works at the same hospital where Mang Ben (Earl Ignacio) is admitted. See how Eloy and Ali’s lives are entangled with each other.
