MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2026) — ABS-CBN Music cleaned up at the 17th PMPC Star Awards for Music, and the winners read like a playlist of the last two years.
The awards, organized by the Philippine Movie Press Club, recognized BINI, Maki, Vice Ganda, Jamie Rivera, Angela Ken, Dwayne Garcia, and Five Fingers across categories spanning pop, dance, inspirational, and Christmas music.
BINI dominates with two major awards
The nation’s girl group BINI took home Dance Recording of the Year for “Salamin, Salamin,” a track that dominated charts and TikTok feeds. They also won Pop Album of the Year for “Talaarawan,” capping a strong year that includes the successful Manila leg of their “BINI Signals World Tour.”
Maki’s “Dilaw” earns Song of the Year
Singer-songwriter Maki was named Male Pop Artist of the Year, and his viral hit “Dilaw” won Song of the Year. The track became one of the most streamed Filipino songs of the year, reinforcing his breakout moment.
Vice Ganda wins Christmas Song of the Year
Vice Ganda received Christmas Song of the Year for “Rainbow Christmas,” co-composed with Jonathan Manalo, Roque “Rox” Santos, and Jeremy Glinoga. The festive track celebrates holiday joy in a way that fits the multihyphenate star’s style.
Inspirational, acoustic and new-artist winners
Jamie Rivera and 92 AD won Inspirational Song of the Year for “Ningas ng Pag-asa,” a track centered on hope and perseverance. Angela Ken was named Female Acoustic Artist of the Year for “Kulimlim.” Dwayne Garcia took New Male Recording Artist of the Year for “Taym Perst Muna,” while Five Fingers was awarded New Male Group Artist of the Year for “Lakas Mo.”
