SANTA CLARA, Calif. (Jun 2025) — Hitachi Vantara has rolled out a new AI-focused platform designed to simplify and speed up artificial intelligence development while cutting through the cost and complexity of managing scattered data systems.
The new Hitachi EverFlex AI Data Hub as a Service is a fully managed solution that acts as a modern “data lakehouse,” bringing together storage, computing, and analytics in one package. It helps businesses prepare data more efficiently for AI and business intelligence (BI) workloads—without needing to overhaul existing systems.
This move comes as companies face growing challenges in managing data spread across multiple environments—on-premises, private cloud, hybrid cloud, and public cloud. A recent Hitachi Vantara study found that 98% of organizations use more than one data storage platform, and 57% use all four. The report also highlighted that up to 80% of AI and data projects fail due to difficulties in data prep and integration, with over $100 billion wasted annually on these inefficiencies.
By providing pay-as-you-go infrastructure and built-in tools for AI and analytics, Hitachi’s new service aims to offer flexibility without compromising security or control. It also integrates real-time data from multiple sources without duplication, giving teams a unified and accurate view of their data.
Jeb Horton, senior vice president of global services at Hitachi Vantara, said the platform allows organizations to “meet their data where it is” and improve data governance, quality, and speed to insight—key ingredients for AI innovation.
The platform is powered by Hitachi’s Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One), Cisco’s Hybrid Cloud IaaS with GPU compute and networking, and Zetaris’ modern lakehouse software. Together, they deliver a complete infrastructure stack that includes unified data management, real-time data integration, and AI/ML-ready hardware.
VSP 360 offers a single control panel for managing different data formats—block, file, object, and software-defined storage—while enabling automation and predictive insights through AIOps. Meanwhile, Hitachi iQ supports high-speed analytics with GPU servers and secure, scalable storage, creating a strong base for enterprise AI workloads.
With these features, Hitachi Vantara aims to help businesses cut down on complexity, save on costs, and move faster on AI experimentation—all while ensuring data privacy and compliance.
Filipino businesses exploring hybrid cloud adoption or facing roadblocks in AI integration may find value in this modular, managed solution, which brings enterprise-level infrastructure closer to reality.
