MAKATI CITY, Philippines—The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) celebrated the grand opening of its newly revamped Landco Pacific Student Lounge, made possible through the generous support of Landco Pacific Corporation. This contribution came from Mr. Erickson Manzano, an AIM alumnus and President and CEO of Landco Pacific, who graduated with a Master in Business Management (MBM) degree in 2000.
The unveiling ceremony, led by AIM President and Dean Dr. Jikyeong Kang, brought together representatives of the AIM community and Landco Pacific Corporation. The redesigned lounge boasts a modern layout with collaborative work areas, sleek furniture, and up-to-date amenities, offering students a versatile space for academic discussions and community-building activities.
“This is a very special occasion for me,” said Mr. Manzano. “What I got from this school is way more than what we are giving back. I credit what I have become to two entities—my parents and this school. I am so proud to be a product of this school.”
Having spent time as a dormitory resident during his AIM days, Mr. Manzano recalled the pivotal role that shared spaces played in his educational journey. “I lived the full AIM experience. I remember staying up past midnight reading case studies. It was half an inch thick minimum every single day. This [lounge]—this is where we hung out, and I wish the same thing for the students now,” he shared.
Mr. Manzano emphasized that AIM’s world-class education greatly shaped his leadership skills. “I loved being here, it is one of the biggest influences in my life. The world should know the quality of students that come out of here,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to supporting AIM’s mission.
The newly renovated lounge stands as a testament to the strong ties between AIM and its alumni network, illustrating their dedication to nurturing future leaders and changemakers. It also enriches the AIM student experience by providing a dynamic space where learning and collaboration thrive.
