BB Gandanghari regrets that she came out as a gay man on national television via the reality show “Pinoy Big Brother” in 2006. She has since discovered more about her gender identity.

“I want to go back to America and hide again. When I came out, I didn’t have boyfriend, or a relationship. So I asked myself, ‘So what makes me gay?’ After three years, I realized I wasn’t gay. I’m a transgender (woman),” she says in “Tapatan Ni Tunying” airing this Thursday (July 10).

Transgender is a term for people whose gender identity is different from the sex they were assigned at birth.

It has been a year since she and her brother Robin Padilla reconciled. However, BB admits that some parts of their relationship still need to be worked out.

“He’s finally accepted me, but not yet completely. But I can see that he is willing to know and understand me better,” she explains. “I always tell myself to be a little more patient. Accepting myself was hard enough for me, but even more so for other people, especially my family.”

Meanwhile, in a separate interview, Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV confirms reports that he plans to run for higher office in 2016 after his two terms in the Senate.

“That’s true. We’re preparing for that,” he says.

Sen. Trillanes, however, remains uncertain whether he will run for president or vice president in the next national elections.
