MANILA, Philippines (Jul 2025) – Filipino music icon Ice Seguerra is set to reveal a deeply personal side in “BEING ICE: LIVE!”, a two-night concert event on September 12 and 13 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Newport World Resorts. This unique experience promises to show the artist’s public journey and private healing.
“This is the most honest I’ve ever been,” Seguerra said in a press release obtained by our editors. “For 38 years, I’ve sung so many songs, but this is the first time I’m singing my own story, the one behind the persona you’ve known all these years.”
The first night, “ICE SEGUERRA: VIDEOKE HITS LIVE” on September 12, doubles as a birthday celebration for Seguerra. It is described as a karaoke-inspired party featuring Original Pilipino Music throwbacks, duets, and popular hits.
“I’m a karaoke addict,” Seguerra quipped, noting the night is for everyone who has sung at family reunions or through heartbreak. This event will feature audience interaction, confetti, cake, and surprise guests, aiming for a night of shared memories and uninhibited singing.
Seguerra also shared that the “Videoke Hits” concept holds special meaning, as it is his mother’s favorite. “She loves seeing me close to my fans, singing with them,” he said. “She always tells me, ‘In Videoke Hits, you get closer to your listeners. To your fans.’ That’s why this show means so much. It’s not just about the songs, it’s about sharing moments with my fans who are the reason why I’m still here today.”
The second night, “THE ICE SEGUERRA EXPERIENCE” on September 13, shifts to a more intimate setting. This portion will focus on Seguerra’s original compositions, including the live debut of his “BEING ICE” album. It will feature stripped-down storytelling, exploring themes of identity, healing, and personal growth.
“Writing these songs scared me,” Seguerra admitted. “Because they weren’t about anyone else, they were about me: my pain, joy, journey. For years, I didn’t know how to say these things in real life. So I wrote them in songs. And now, I’m ready to sing them.”
This second night will also include Seguerra’s enduring hits, tributes to his musical influences, surprise collaborations, and insights into his life, including his transition, advocacy, and legacy. “This night is really special. While “Becoming Ice” celebrated his artistic journey, Diño explained that “Being Ice” aims to “reveal the other side — the person. The heart. The point of view that shaped the music we all know.”
She added that the two distinct nights are designed to offer a complete picture of Seguerra, from the fun and fearless to the emotional and empowering. The concert will also be filmed for “BEING ICE: THE DOCUMENTARY,” which will chronicle Seguerra’s 38-year career, featuring never-before-seen moments and behind-the-scenes stories.
