A brighter future awaits students in typhoon Yolanda-stricken areas as bids for Angel Locsin’s 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle already reached P1.8 million through an online auction spearheaded by ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya.
The muscle car donated to Sagip Kapamilya by the award-winning actress has been auctioned off starting last Monday (Apr 21). The entire proceeds will be used to build classrooms in typhoon Yolanda-stricken areas.
The minimum bid was set at P1 million, but it has almost doubled people rallied support for Angel’s cause.
Interested buyers may still place their bids and log on to http://auction.abs-cbn.com. Register and create your account and click on ‘place bid’ for your bids. Auction closes on Wednesday (April 30). For more inquiries, visit the auction site or call 4114995 to schedule a viewing appointment.
As of March 31, Sagip Kapamilya has already served relief assistance to about 3.6 million individuals affected by typhoon Yolanda. Three hundred three boats with fishing gears have already been distributed to different coastal areas, while 21 classrooms are also being built in devastated towns.
Sagip Kapamilya intends to deliver around 4,000 boats and build more than 100 classrooms in the towns of Basey, Marabut, Sta. Rita (Samar) and Dulag (Leyte) — areas assigned by the government to ABS-CBN to rehabilitate — as well as in Masbate, Palawan and Panay Islands. Livelihood projects will also be conducted such as crab cultivation, agriculture, weaving, and ecotourism development.
