BPI MS Launches RunXecure at BPI Best Life Run 2026, Riding the Momentum of the Philippines’ Second Running Boom

With more Filipinos embracing running as part of their lifestyle, the need to protect them while they pursue that passion becomes just as important as the sport itself. Thus, BPI/MS Insurance Corporation (BPI MS), the non-life insurance arm of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), is supporting the country’s expanding running community with the launch of RunXecure, a personal accident insurance product designed specifically for runners.

The product was officially unveiled at the BPI Best Life Run 2026 on June 7, 2026, where thousands of participants gathered to celebrate fitness, wellness, and active living. As a major sponsor of the event, BPI MS introduced RunXecure to the running community through interactive booth activities and exclusive event giveaways, making BPI Best Life Run participants among the first to learn about the new protection solution.

“Launching RunXecure during the 175th anniversary celebration of our parent bank, BPI, is both an honor and a privilege for BPI MS. BPI has always placed customer obsession at the center of how it serves Filipinos, and this milestone year’s theme, Do More Philippines, reminds us to continue finding meaningful ways to help our customers move forward. As more Filipinos embrace running to become healthier, manage stress, pursue personal goals, and connect with their communities, RunXecure is our way of responding to a real and growing need. Through this product, we hope to give runners greater confidence and peace of mind, knowing they are better prepared for uncertainties as they continue to do more, go farther, and pursue their best life,” said Noriyuki Kobayashi, President and CEO of BPI MS.

BPI MS President and CEO Noriyuki Kobayashi with Run with Carla proponent and community run organizer Carla Navarro and Coach Gabb Rosario introduce BPI MS RunXecure.

Behind every race bib is a personal goal—whether it’s completing a first run, achieving a new personal best, or maintaining a healthier lifestyle. But even with preparation and training, unexpected incidents such as injuries, heatstroke, or damaged gear can disrupt a runner’s journey.

To help runners stay focused on their goals, BPI MS developed RunXecure to provide protection tailored specifically to the running experience.

RunXecure comes in three variants:

● Race Shield (Php 100) – Provides coverage for a single running event, ideal for beginners and occasional runners seeking protection for a single race event.

● Race Ready (Php 399) – Provides basic annual protection and designed for active runners who regularly participate in races and running events throughout the year

● Race Elite (Php 999) – Provides annual protection at higher tier benefits suited for dedicated lifestyle runners and sports enthusiasts whose activities may benefit from increased coverages for accidents and medical reimbursements.

The product covers local registration-required running events, providing accessible and affordable protection whether runners are preparing for their first 5 kilometer run, chasing a new personal best, or gearing up for their next marathon.

Beyond providing protection, BPI MS is committed to fostering a stronger running community. As part of this effort, the company also launched RunXecure Club on Strava, a space where runners can connect with fellow enthusiasts, share milestones, track their progress, and encourage one another throughout their fitness journeys.

Adding to the excitement during the launch, Carla Marie Navarro (@runwithcarlaaa) and Coach Gabriel Del Rosario (@gabbrosario)—also took the stage to emphasize the importance of runner protection. Carla, a well-known running enthusiast and a running community host, highlighted how safety plays a key role in sustaining a long-term running lifestyle. Meanwhile, Coach Gab, hybrid athlete and sports scientist, shared insights from both training and racing perspectives, underscoring the need for preparedness against unexpected incidents.

RunXecure is very much aligned with our purpose of protecting dreams amidst uncertainties. For many Filipinos, running has become more than a sport. It is a way to take care of their health, manage stress, pursue personal goals, and reconnect with communities beyond their screens. Through RunXecure, we want to celebrate that effort and support runners with protection that helps them stay prepared for uncertainties and ready to bounce back when setbacks happen. This is part of our commitment at BPI MS to listen closely to our customers and create insurance solutions that are relevant, accessible, and responsive to the way Filipinos live today,” said Malaya Del Rosario, Marketing Director of BPI MS Insurance.

RunXecure is available through a fully digital purchase journey and is proof of BPI MS’s commitment to providing uncomplicated and relevant insurance solutions that help Filipinos pursue their passions with confidence.

Runners can also look forward to more community-driven initiatives, including challenges curated by Coach Gabb within the RunXecure Strava Club as well as upcoming nationwide events with Carla and the Run with Carla community.
