Business Economics Forum 2021 [event]

With the adverse effects brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, all sectors of the country were left to deal with severe challenges in its wake. Among the sectors that were mainly affected are the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which cover 99.5% of the operating businesses in the country.

Since last year, the damages brought by the pandemic have persistently hampered its operations. So how is the MSMEs sector now? What opportunities can it take advantage of to help them recover?

The UA&P School of Economics and the Business Economics Association (BEA) are hereby proud to present the Business Economics Forum (BEF). This year’s forum will center around the theme: “Widening Horizons Towards Development,” which will tackle relevant issues concerning the MSMEs sector in the pandemic setting.

The forum will feature discussions on the current situation of the MSMEs sector, digital banking with MSMEs, government initiatives to aid in its recovery, and the future outlooks for Philippine MSMEs skills development. Distinct leaders, such as Former Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, DTI Asec. Mary Jean Pacheco, and PTTC Executive Director Nelly Ditera will be spearheading the conference on the performance of the MSMEs sector in the Philippine economy, while also addressing certain roles playing in its recovery.

The event will be held on May 8, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. via Zoom. For interested participants, you may check the event primer for more information.
