The country’s number one cable channel recently celebrated twenty years of staying by the side of its loyal fans and supporters through their various life experiences; and to commemorate that bond, Cinema One held its 20th Anniversary Concert, a celebration of movies through music.
The channel that has been the top-rating channel on total cable households nationwide for many years now staged this celebration, which featured no less than the Philippines’ best artists. They shared their music to loyal fans and supporters of Cinema One, the home of the biggest stars in the country.
Those who took the stage along with host KC Concepcion for this star-studded evening were the likes of Jed Madela, Angeline Quinto, Jovit Baldivino, and KZ Tandingan, who kicked off the show with the Cinema One anniversary theme song, “Parang Sine”/”Laging Kasama”.
This act was followed by various production numbers that latched onto various genres. A romance-themed number was delivered by Rachel Gerodias, Hajji Alejandro, Verni Varga, Christian Bautista, Princess Velasco, Sam Concepcion, and Morisette Amon; while an indie-themed number was delivered by Yeng Constantino and Raimund Marasigan—all backed by the music of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra.
These artists came together to present their own renditions of some of the best songs from Philippine cinema, bringing together the arts of song and screen.
Favorite Filipino comedienne Pokwang also took the stage that night to deliver a stand-up act, mentioning and sampling some of her favorite funny moments from movies that she had starred in.
Also given special tribute during Cinema One’s 20th Anniversary Concert through the Numero Uno Cinema One Icons were two kings of the local film industry, Fernando Poe, Jr. and Dolphy. Their awards were accepted by Bryan Poe Llamanzares and Epi and Vandolph Quizon. Also given the Numero Uno Cinema One Icons were two of the most important female personalities in the industry, Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos.
The Cinema One 20th Anniversary Concert was staged by the country’s number one cable channel, Cinema One. Cinema One is seen and carried in almost 100% of total cable operators nationwide and throughout the world through satellite on Cinema One Global, and continues to innovate programming with local productions and Cinema One Originals. It has the biggest film libraries in its inventory, which have been constantly and rapidly expanding over the years.
The Cinema One 20th Anniversary Concert will be airing via pay-per-view on Cinema One on August 15.
