Cinema One gives all you movie buffs a treat with their classic movie highlights for this June

MANILA, Philippines – Movie buffs are in for a treat this June on Cinema One as the cable channel continues to showcase Filipino movies that would bring tears, laughter, and adrenaline rush for the enjoyment of audiences.

Viewers who wish to have movie night bonding with their dads before and after Fathers’ Day on June 19 should consider their Mondays and Tuesdays booked as Cinema One highlights the highs and lows of being a father on these days this month.

Witness the story of a family caught in financial ruin after being involved in a Ponzi scheme in “Honor Thy Father” on June 13; siblings forced to come together after their father’s cancer diagnosis in “Seven Sundays” on June 20; and a father’s life-changing experience of reuniting with his estranged son in “Northern Lights: A Journey To Love” on June 27. Catch these movies on Cinema One every Monday at 9 PM.

For those who prefer hearty jokes over tearjerkers, tune in Tuesdays at 9 PM starting with “Biyudo Si Daddy, Biyuda Si Mommy,” where two people with deceased spouses reconnect and find love on June 14. Likewise, revisit Dolphy and Serena Dalrymple’s heartwarming father-daughter team-up in “Daddy O! Baby O!” on June 21 and an orphan’s chaotic but colorful life with three bachelors in “Tong Tatlong Tatay Kong Pakitong Kitong” on June 28.

Meanwhile, Cinema One also pays homage to many dads’ ‘lodi’ Coco Martin as it airs the “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” lead star’s films this month every Friday at 10 PM, beginning this June 10 with “Ang Panday,” followed by “Beauty and the Bestie” on June 17, and “The Super Parental Guardians” on June 24.

The cable channel also hosts a whole day “Freedom Festival” on June 12 (Sunday) in observance of Independence Day featuring films like “Lapu-Lapu,” “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo,” “Heneral Luna” and more. Pride Month will also be in the spotlight via “Rainbow Festival” on June 26 (Sunday) through LGBTQIA-themed flicks like “Rainbow’s Sunset,” “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin,” and “The Panti Sisters” among others.

Cinema One, the home of Filipino blockbuster movies, is available on Cignal ch. 45, SKYcable ch. 56, and other local cable service providers. For more information, follow Cinema One on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
