PHILIPPINES – Philippines’ leading fixed broadband service provider, Converge ICT Solutions Inc., remains unfazed by its competitor’s claim to being the Fastest ISP in the Philippines.

The Dennis Anthony Uy-owned ICT company maintains that being consistently cited as the fastest in customer-initiated ratings and by award-giving bodies holds more weight in the race to be the country’s fastest.

“As an internet service provider, being fast is elementary. What matters more is being consistent in providing our offered speed and knowing our subscribers all over the country where we serve are satisfied with the kind of service they are getting. What we always wanted is for everyone to get equal access to the service they deserve,” said Converge Chief Operations Officer (COO) Jesus C. Romero.

Converge improved its year-on-year speed result by 70%, posting median download speed of 94.39 Mbps in the first quarter of 2023―a vast increase from median download speed of 50.26 Mbps around the same quarter last year. Superseding the national median download speed of 92.09 Mbps, Converge proves to be a major player in improving the country’s digital landscape. The company also exceeded speed expectations in 15 out of the 16 regions it serves, where speed results doubled.

The company received the *Best ISP Video Experience in the Philippines recognition for the second half of 2022 at the Ookla® Speedtest Award™, which verifies the consumer-generated score results of video experiences felt by customers over a six-month period, with an overall video score of 80.99.

Converge has been the ISP of choice for streamers, gamers, and high-volume data-sharing businesses. Subscribers have benefited from hassle-free service with the company’s consistent high speed, low jitter (2 ms in 2022) (all data arrives in the right order), and lowest latency (all data arrives swiftly) (12.51ms in 2022) connectivity regardless of their subscribed plan.

With its second in a row Broadband Telecom Company of the Year (Philippines) award at the recently concluded Asian Telecom Awards 2023, Converge has kept its promise of leaving no one behind as the country tries to achieve digital democracy. Offering two free double speed bumps last year, the company gave the upgrades to both city dwellers and rural inhabitants in the country.

Since it entered the fixed broadband market in 2016, Converge has garnered the reputation of being a disruptor, challenging its rivals with connectivity offerings and investing heavily in its network infrastructure. At the moment, its National Digital Highway boasts 646,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables, 119,000 kilometers of terrestrial fiber backbone, 1,800 kilometers of subsea cables, and 20 landing stations.

Planning to increase connectivity capacity and provide consumers and businesses with network diversity in the coming years, the company invested in the SEA-H2X Submarine Cable System and the trans-pacific Bifrost Cable System. Both cable systems will significantly increase connectivity capacity and provide consumers and businesses with network diversity in the coming years.

Romero added, “We are a young company, but unlike our competitors, we design and build our own network. That’s why the cost is lower, we can build faster, the quality is better, and best of all, our value for money connectivity offerings are never compromised because we control everything ourselves. When we promise you high-speed, reliable, and affordable internet, that’s exactly what you will be getting from us. We value consistency, and we will always strive to beat our customers’ expectations.”

Converge has consistently been rated as the most reliable ISP in the Philippines in Ookla®’s consumer-initiated ratings; it was named the Most Consistent Network across five regions in the last quarter of 2021 and declared the Top Rated Fixed Network for the first half of 2022. The ICT company closed the year as the overall top ISP in video-on-demand streaming giant Netflix’s ISP Speed Index. It has been at the top of the Netflix ISP provider leaderboard for the entire first half of 2023.
