The tough-talking Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has challenged his fellow presidential candidate Mar” Roxas to a gun duel instead of a slapping match.

“Barilan na lang. Takot mamatay ang mga mayayaman. Anong kinatatakutan ko?” Duterte said in Bisaya Monday night.

According to Inquirer, Duterte issued the statement when asked by reporters regarding his earlier statement challenging Roxas to a slapping match.

Duterte’s statement was a response to Roxas’ suggestion to have a fist fight instead of slapping match which, according to Roxas, was for women.

“Gawin mo na lang kung anong gusto mong gawin. At sampalan? Bakit pa sampalan, pambabae ‘yan, suntukan na lang, ‘di ba? Simpleng-simple lang ito,” Roxas told reporters in an ambush interview in Cubao, Quezon City.

The war between Duterte and Roxas has started said after the mayor said he would slap Roxas if their came face to face after the former senator and cabinet member said Davao City’s low crime rate and safest city title were a “myth.”

The mayor hit back at Roxas, stating it was his economics degree in Wharton that was the real “myth.”

According to him, two congressmen, who also attended to Wharton School of Business under the University of Pennsylvania, confirmed to him that Roxas was not a graduate of the school.

Despite the documents presented by Roxas, Duterte said these were “Recto-made” or fabricated.

However, The Wharton School of business has already confirmed that Roxas was a graduate in the prestigious school.

Duterte meanwhile, still reiterated  that Roxas was not a Wharton graduate.
