ALBAY, Philippines (May 2024) – Epson Philippines showcased its commitment to sustainable innovation and local partnerships during its 16th annual Fusion media event at Misibis Bay Resort in Albay from May 28-30.
The three-day gathering brought together media partners and company executives under the theme “EcoSynergy,” highlighting how technology and environmental responsibility can work hand in hand.
“Real progress happens when innovation moves in step with shared purpose,” said Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines Corporation. “EcoSynergy is how Epson brings people, technology, and sustainability together.”
The company’s “Engineered for Good” philosophy drives every aspect of its operations, from design to manufacturing. This approach focuses on reducing energy consumption, extending product lifecycles, and selecting environmentally safer materials.
Epson Philippines has maintained market leadership across eight product categories while achieving consistent double-digit growth. The company continues its fight against counterfeit inks through regional holograms and has expanded warranty options via its CoverPlus program.
New value-added services now include enhanced solutions for education and self-ordering systems. Large-format printing capabilities for textiles and signage further cement Epson’s market position.
The event introduced key personnel changes, including Julia Avila as Officer-in-Charge for Product Marketing focusing on corporate products, and Ash Elshawbaki as Senior Manager for Corporate & Government and Channel Sales Departments.
Sustainability took center stage as EJ Sulit, Epson’s Sustainability Champion, outlined the company’s ambitious environmental roadmap. Epson aims to achieve carbon-negative operations by 2050 and transition to 100% renewable energy across all global facilities.
This commitment includes the world’s largest Epson manufacturing facility located in Batangas, Philippines.
Local impact remains a priority through community-driven initiatives like the ICLEAN Project in Monreal, Ticao Island. Partnering with WWF-Philippines, the project focuses on waste management and sponsored a plastic shredder that produces eco-bricks from collected plastics.
“Each eco-brick contains about 500 grams of plastic that might otherwise pollute marine environments,” Sulit explained. “The municipality now produces over 300 bricks monthly, showing how localized innovation drives real change.”
The event featured team challenges that tested communication and creativity, strengthening bonds between media partners and Epson leadership. These activities reinforced the company’s belief that meaningful progress requires collaborative effort.
Ed Bonoan, Sales Division Head, thanked media partners for their continued support. “We’re grateful for your partnership in sharing our stories,” he said.
For businesses and consumers seeking sustainable printing solutions, Epson Philippines maintains a network of over 300 dealers, 160 Authorized Service Centers, and more than 700 stores nationwide.
