QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Aug. 2026) – Pinoy food lovers can now embark on a delicious European culinary tour from home as “Eva Longoria: Searching for France” premieres on Metro Channel this Sunday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m.
The award-winning actress, producer, and director travels across Paris, Provence, Bordeaux, Alsace, Brittany, and Burgundy to uncover how centuries of history, culture, and deep connections to the land shaped French dining traditions. Throughout her journey, she explores terroir, the French belief that the true character and quality of food stem directly from where it is grown.
From Michelin stars to monastic cheese
Her adventure takes her to some of the most iconic food destinations in France. In Paris, Longoria samples an oyster with rhubarb alongside legendary chef Alain Ducasse, who holds 21 Michelin stars. In Provence, she tastes bouillabaisse, a traditional fish stew with thousands of years of history, while Bordeaux introduces her to world-class wine pairings.
She also braves a coastal storm in Brittany to feast on fresh crab, blue lobster, and oysters, before traveling to Burgundy to meet Cistercian monks who still handcraft creamy cheeses using centuries-old techniques.
Decadent pastries and a custom macaron
The trip offers plenty of sweet surprises as well. Longoria dives into the artistry of French pâtisserie, sampling creations like Cedric Grolet’s famous Mango cake, the Dahlia cake, Rhum au Baba, and inventive treats from Boneshaker Donut. She even crafts her own signature Ladurée macaron, dubbed the “Diablo,” combining vanilla ganache with spicy Mexican chocolate.
To cap off her journey, Longoria joins three-Michelin-starred chef Eric Ripert and food writer Lindsay Tramuta along the Seine River for a traditional seven-course French fine-dining experience that highlights how French food conquered the global culinary scene.
