PHILIPPINES — Vigan City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recently became the epicenter of a culinary celebration as Coca-Cola Foodmarks opened its doors on December 10, 2024. The launch, marking the third and final regional Foodmarks event of the year, brought Ilocano cuisine and Filipino food culture to the spotlight.
Known for its cobblestone streets and Spanish-era architecture, Vigan has always been a destination for culture and heritage enthusiasts. Now, it stands tall as a must-visit culinary hub. Visitors can savor iconic dishes like crispy bagnet, the garlicky Vigan longganisa, and the vibrant Ilocos empanada. But the flavors don’t stop there. Food lovers can also explore lesser-known treasures like sinanglao, a comforting beef organ soup, and pipian, a rich chicken stew infused with annatto and rice. Even plant-based diners can enjoy dinengdeng, a hearty vegetable stew packed with seasonal flavors and a dash of Ilocano ingenuity.
Coca-Cola Foodmarks celebrates these culinary gems, offering visitors not only authentic eats but also a nostalgic pairing—an ice-cold Coca-Cola to complete the experience. With this launch, Coca-Cola reinforces its commitment to bringing people together over good food and great memories.
Following earlier successes in Binondo and Iloilo, the Vigan event capped off a series of regional epicenters showcasing local food, culture, and connection. As the year draws to a close, Coca-Cola looks ahead to 2025 with more initiatives aimed at celebrating Filipino heritage and flavors.
