Remember the 60’s hit song “I love I love my calendar girl…yeah sweet calendar girl!” popularized by Neil Sedaka?
I also sang that line when I recently covered and attended the launch and reveal of Ginebra San Miguel’s Inc. (GSMI) 2017 Calendar Girl.
And what a grand launch it was when all our eyes and cameras were on fast rising star, Kapuso sexy artist French-Filipina Kim Domingo stepped out of the stage ramp, sashayed and greeted us with her sweet but shy smile.
Before she was called out, a video of outgoing 2016 calendar girl Arci Munoz was shown thanking the GSMI Family for giving her the chance to be part of the prestigious list alongside with Solenn Heusaff, Ellen Adarna and Marian Rivera. GSM Vice President and Marketing Manager Mr. Nelson Elises made mention that a criteria they have when picking out a calendar girl is wanting to grow with her in a demanding industry.
And Kim was a perfect choice for the popular liquor brand working her way up to be recognized in the business as pointed out by Ginebra San Miguel Brand manager Paolo Tupaz. Just a throwback, Kim’s showbiz journey started with her early childhood stint as Little Miss Philippines contestant for Eat Bulaga followed by a string reality show competitions and more stable modelling stints.
“Even when I was younger, I already had specific goals in life; I knew what I wanted to be and what I wanted to accomplish. Being an only child, I also learned to be strong and independent early on. I’m very grateful that my hard work and perseverance are starting to bear fruit now. So for our ka-barangays, I just want to send a message that if we remain strong, focused and ‘Ganado sa Buhay’, we will be able to achieve our goals and dreams,” Kim shares.
Kim’s 2017 will be quite busy with GSMI related tours in and around the country aside from her showbiz projects especially with comedy show Bubble Gang where she is weekly seen. She belives that balancing her busy schedules will allow her to be able to meet all her commitments.
Did you also know that Kim is a recording artist, having released her debut single, “Know Me”, under GMA Records? Sooner or later we will enjoy more songs from her and perhaps a mini concert in the offing when the rest of her songs are all ready to come out with an album of her own.
GSMI has released five layouts for its 2017 calendar with a “Cheeky and Geeky” theme, showing Kim’s fun and quirky side. And with these hot and seductive photos of Kim already out online as well, it will serve as “fitspiration” to all the ladies out there, myself included, when it comes to the being fit and sexy is concerned.
Congrats Kim! May you shine more but keep your feet on the ground and remain grateful and humble.
