MANILA, Philippines – UAAP Season 77 Men’s Basketball Most Valuable Player Kiefer Ravena is eager to once again represent the country in the international basketball scene by joining Gilas Pilipinas.

“I want to try out and showcase that I am deserving to have a spot in Gilas Pilipinas,” he reveals in “Tapatan Ni Tunying” airing this Thursday (Nov 20).

Kiefer previously competed in the Southeast Asian Games as a member of the Sinag Pilipinas team that bagged championships in 2011 and 2013.

Despite the popularity he enjoys not just because of his basketball skills, but also of his good looks, Kiefer insists he will not pursue a career in show business.

“I laugh whenever I imagine myself acting or crying. That is really not for me,” says Kiefer.

Meanwhile, if Kiefer intends to land on the national basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas captain Jimmy Alapag opens up about retiring in the “Tapatan Ni Tunying” episode and shares his plans on the next chapter of his career.

“I know my career in basketball is about to end, but I’m just focused now on getting back to the Talk N Text team to try to help them win another championship. We’ll just wait and see,” bares Jimmy.

Jimmy, who is expecting his second child with wife LJ Moreno, says no prize is as satisfying as becoming a parent.

“Those awards don’t come close. It’s different. Championships are nice and they are something that you could be proud of, but being a parent is so much different. It makes you much happier,” Jimmy says.

When asked if he is ready to become a full-time dad, Jimmy answered, “Absolutely!”
