MANILA, Philippines (Apr 2025) — A feature quietly living inside the GlobeOne app has quietly turned routine mobile data use into something bigger: more than 4 billion hearts generated for charitable causes across the Philippines.
Globe spotlighted GoGIVE at the latest installment of The Blueprint, its quarterly media event, revealing just how far the program has grown since launch.
How GoGIVE works
The mechanic is straightforward. Globe Prepaid customers open the GlobeOne app, tap GoGIVE, pick an advocacy, and then go about their day. Every time mobile data is used, hearts are automatically earned and counted toward the chosen cause. No extra steps, no additional fees.
Those hearts are then converted into connectivity support — specifically Globe AT HOME 5G Loop devices — distributed to partner organizations once they hit their heart targets. Each partner organization was assigned a target of 840 million hearts. The 4 billion hearts generated so far reflects how far past that threshold the program’s participants have collectively gone.
Where the support is going
The program currently backs ten advocacy areas including animal welfare, environmental conservation, digital education, women empowerment, medical assistance, disaster relief, children’s rights and development, inclusion, teacher development, and child protection.
On the ground, that support looks different for each partner. The Philippine Animal Welfare Society is using connectivity to streamline online pet adoptions, run virtual veterinary consultations, and coordinate rescue operations during disasters. The Philippine Eagle Foundation is connecting indigenous community partners to online learning modules and real-time threat reporting tools to help protect the critically endangered bird.
Project PEARLS is running virtual skills training in macramé, crochet, and candle making for women in partner communities in Siargao and Bulacan, while also providing youth scholars with career guidance and leadership development resources. World Vision Philippines is using the connectivity support to bring reliable internet access to public schools in Laurel, Batangas, alongside online safety programs and improved child protection referral systems.
GoGIVE has also been activated during emergencies, with Globe Prepaid customers channeling support to disaster response efforts in partnership with Ayala Foundation, Rise Against Hunger Philippines, Pawssion Project, and the Philippine Eagle Foundation.
Globe Prepaid customers can get started by opening the GlobeOne app, tapping GoGIVE, and selecting an advocacy to support.
