MANILA, Philippines (Apr 2025) — Honda Philippines has reopened its Honda Room program, aiming to train underprivileged youth across the country in motorcycle and small engine servicing, with the goal of creating skilled workers and helping Filipino families improve their livelihood.
The relaunch, held in March, is part of the company’s Honda Love You Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. It involves partnerships with technical schools in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao that offer Motorcycle/Small Engine Servicing (MSES) vocational courses.
The Honda Room is a dedicated learning laboratory equipped with motorcycles, tools, and equipment aligned with Honda’s latest technology and service standards. Students are trained to become certified mechanics who may later work in Honda dealerships or related fields. Around 25 students are accepted per term.
The first of the three relaunch events took place March 18 at Don Bosco Training Center–San Jose in Nueva Ecija. The center helps youth from farming families who cannot afford college, providing vocational education and practical training.
On March 26, Honda brought the program to Dumangas, Iloilo, partnering with Don Bosco Boy’s Home and Vocational Training Center. The facility offers at-risk youth a safe place to live and access to quality technical training.
The final event was held March 28 at Don Bosco Training Center–Mati in Davao Oriental. The school focuses on aligning technical education with local industry needs, helping students find better job opportunities.
Each partner school received Honda motorcycles, service tools, and trainer support to ensure learners are taught using the latest standards and techniques. A train-the-trainer program is also in place to keep instructors up to date.
Honda says it plans to deepen its collaboration with training centers to support the country’s growing need for qualified motorcycle service technicians and help lift more families out of poverty.
