MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2025) – Philippine entertainment powerhouses Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia have been tapped as the first brand ambassadors for Chinese smartphone maker HONOR’s latest flagship device, the HONOR 400 5G, according to a press release obtained by our editors.

The announcement marks a strategic move by HONOR Philippines to leverage local star power in promoting their AI-enhanced smartphone, which carries a price tag of 22,999 pesos for the 24GB plus 512GB variant.

Both celebrities, known for their on-screen chemistry and significant social media following, will spearhead marketing campaigns showcasing the device’s artificial intelligence features and 5G connectivity capabilities.

“We are thrilled to have Julia and Joshua as the faces of HONOR 400 5G,” said Stephen Cheng, Vice President of HONOR Philippines. “Their energy, creativity, and authenticity align perfectly with our vision of making advanced technology accessible and relevant to everyone.”

The partnership comes as HONOR intensifies competition in the Philippine smartphone market, where local consumers increasingly demand premium features at competitive prices. The HONOR 400 5G enters a crowded field dominated by established players offering similar AI-powered photography and connectivity features.

Pre-orders launched Monday and run through June 27, with customers receiving bundled accessories worth 9,397 pesos. These include a JBL Go 4 speaker, HONOR Choice Earbuds Clips, and a Jisulife Pro 1 device.

HONOR is also running a premium raffle for early buyers. Winners can claim either a Rolex GMT Master II valued at 600,000 pesos or a Hermès Lindy Mini Bag worth 420,000 pesos.

The device comes in three color variants: Midnight Black, Tidal Blue, and Desert Gold. It’s available through HONOR’s physical stores and major e-commerce platforms including Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop.

Industry analysts note that celebrity endorsements remain a key marketing strategy in the Philippines, where consumer purchasing decisions are heavily influenced by entertainment personalities and social media presence.
