MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2025) – A 20-year-old college student from the Philippines has been crowned the Ultimate Sparkle Campus Cutie, winning a talent management contract and smartphone prizes worth 35,000 pesos in a nationwide competition powered by Chinese tech brand HONOR’s latest 5G device.
Mad Ramos beat 19 other finalists in the GMA Network talent search after weeks of training at Sparkle GMA Artist Center, the entertainment giant’s artist development arm. The competition, which drew participants from universities across the archipelago, ended in a tie-breaking decision between Ramos and runner-up Andrei Fajardo.
“Aside from bringing photos to life, HONOR 400 5G brings dreams to life too,” said Stephen Cheng, HONOR Philippines Vice President. The global technology brand partnered with the talent search as part of its campaign following the June 17 launch of its newest smartphone model.
Jayson David received a separate recognition as the HONOR 400 5G AI Master during the competition finale.
The HONOR 400 5G, priced at 22,999 pesos for the 24GB RAM and 512GB storage variant, targets Filipino consumers with its AI-powered photography features and 5G connectivity. The device comes in three colors: Midnight Black, Tidal Blue, and Desert Gold.
Pre-order customers purchasing between June 17 and 27 receive free accessories worth 9,397 pesos, including a JBL Go 4 speaker and HONOR Choice Earbuds. The promotion also includes chances to win luxury prizes including a Rolex GMT Master II valued at 600,000 pesos and a Hermes Lindy Mini Bag worth 420,000 pesos.
The smartphone features what HONOR calls a “stylish and functional design” with extended battery life for photography enthusiasts. Company materials highlight the device’s ability to adapt to various lighting conditions for both casual and professional use.
